The project is a solar heated luxury home, remarkable for the integration of high efficiency technology, luxury amenities and traditional residential style, which is consistent with its surroundings. The energy efficiency is transparently integrated into the entire project.
The roof-mounted active solar panels provide domestic hot water as well as heated water for a radiant floor heating system at the basement and first floors. Passive solar heat is absorbed into the slate floor surface shutting off individual radiant zones when possible. Perfectly sized overhangs shade the interior from the summer’s sun.
